How can I lose weight if I eat wholesome but fattening foods?
I want to bury this myth once and for all: there's no such thing as fattening food. The only thing about food that can make you fat is repeatedly eating when you don't feel hungry. While I'm on the subject, there's no such thing as slimming food, either. To lose weight and keep it off all you need to do is eat a large variety of mainly whole foods, especially vegetables and fruit, eat just enough to satisfy your physical hunger, and do some form of regular physical activity. That's why you don't worry if some of the natural foods you eat happen to be high in fat or kilojoules or whatever.
What our readers say...
"I have just recently finished Dr Amanda's telephone coaching program. I had read her book, I agreed with the principles and I had tried the 'diet' on my own without a lot of success. I was plateaued at 86.2 kilos for months. Then I decided to get some serious accountability going and I contacted Dr Amanda. I cannot recommend this enough to anybody who is needing to get off the 'merry-go-round' of dieting. Through my 'sessions' I learnt to stay focussed, to set achievable short-term goals and received feedback and encouragement each fortnight. In eight weeks, I lost 3.9 kilos and I am confident that I can continue to enjoy success. In fact, this Christmas I was thrilled to have been able to maintain my weight for the first Christmas EVER despite having truly 'enjoyed' some serious entertaining! Thank you so much Dr Amanda."
